Suspect in Nice 2016 terrorist attack arrested in Italy

The man was arrested in Sparanise, in the province of Caserta.

According to Evropeyskaya Pravda, citing Ansa, Italian police reported the arrest of a 28-year-old man suspected of involvement in organizing a terrorist attack in Nice in 2016, which killed 86 people.

“The man was arrested in Sparanise, in the province of Caserta. His name is reported to be Andri Yelezi and he is a citizen of Albania. Law enforcers believe that he helped to obtain weapons for the perpetrator of the terrorist attack”, the report says.

“The detention was carried out thanks to the coordination of Italian, Albanian and French law enforcement officers”.

We will remind, the terrorist attack was committed on July 14 in Nice after the fireworks on the occasion of the national holiday – a truck drove into a crowd of people returning home. The truck driver also opened fire on people.
