Vilnius is considering the possibility of expelling Russian diplomats.
As Censor.NET reports with reference to UNN, on Thursday, on the air of the national radio LRT, the adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Asta Skaisgirite said that the Lithuanian authorities were discussing the possibility of expelling employees of the Russian embassy in Vilnius from the country as a sign of solidarity with the Czech Republic.
“We are currently discussing with our allies through diplomatic channels how best to express solidarity with Prague. The President fully supports the actions of the Czech Republic”, – she said.
Last week, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielus Landsbergis expressed support for Prague, which expelled 18 employees of the Russian Embassy in Prague, who, according to the Czech side, are officers of the Russian special services. The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed a resolute protest to Prague in connection with the step taken under unfounded and far-fetched pretexts, and also declared 20 employees of the Czech Embassy in Moscow persona non grata.
