Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, noted the progress in negotiations to restore the nuclear deal.
According to Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, the official meeting of the Joint Commission on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will take place in Vienna today, April 17, amid progress in negotiations on returning to the nuclear deal.
“We note the progress in the negotiations on the restoration of the nuclear deal, the progress is slow but steady. Gradually, the negotiations go deeper. Therefore, it was decided, in addition to the planned meetings of expert groups, to hold an official meeting of the Joint Commission on the JCPOA today”, – TASS quotes Ulyanov’s entry on his Twitter page.
On April 16, the Russian permanent representative said on Twitter that a trilateral meeting of the heads of the delegations of Iran, China and Russia took place on Friday evening in the context of the ongoing negotiations. He added that the members of the Joint Commission of Iran and the international “five” (Germany, France, Great Britain, China, Russia) will continue consultations in Vienna on Saturday on the issue of restoring the implementation of the JCPOA on the Iranian nuclear program. Earlier, in an interview with reporters, Ulyanov did not rule out that consultations could be continued on Saturday.
