The consultations in Vienna on the Iranian nuclear deal showed that progress in this direction is possible, but Tehran still does not see the need for direct contacts with the United States. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Khatibzadeh said this in an interview with CNN.
According to him, “steps were taken in the right direction” in Vienna.
“The consultations in Vienna showed that progress is possible”, – he stressed.
Khatibzadeh noted the need for the United States to return to compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan.
“At the same time, the situation is not easy now. It seems that there are those in the current US administration who are much more committed to the Trump sanctions than to President Obama’s nuclear deal”, – Khatibzadeh added.
“In my opinion, this political decision should be made by President Biden”.
