An information bulletin of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has been published on the progress in the implementation of the Memorandum on the creation of de-escalation zones dated April 5, 2021.
As part of the implementation of the Memorandum on the creation of de-escalation zones in the Syrian Arab Republic, signed by the Russian Federation, the Turkish Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran on May 4, 2017, monitoring groups continue to monitor compliance with the ceasefire regime.
By agreement of the Russian and Turkish sides, from 00.01 on March 6, 2020, the regime of cessation of hostilities is in effect on the territory of the Idlib de-escalation zone.
The Russian part of the representative office of the joint Russian-Turkish commission to consider issues related to violations of the cessation of hostilities regime recorded 26 facts of opening fire (of which, according to the Syrian side, 25) in the provinces: Aleppo – 2, Latakia – 10, Idlib – 12 , Hama – 2.
During the day, the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties and Control over the Movement of Refugees carried out three humanitarian actions:
in Mugr al-Mir of Damascus province – 375 food sets were issued, with a total weight of 2.865 tons;
in Baksa province of Latakia – 375 food sets were issued, with a total weight of 2.865 tons;
in El Aliya, Aleppo province – 540 food sets were issued, with a total weight of 2.7 tons.
