French President Emmanuel Macron has said that a new type of world war has unfolded in the field of vaccination
“In the field of vaccination a new type of world war has unfolded. We are seeing attempts at destabilisation from Russia, China, the desire to influence through vaccines, against this background we want to produce as much to meet our own needs”, – Macron said at a press conference following the EU online summit.
Earlier, European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton said that the EU does not need the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus. Commenting on such statements regarding the Russian vaccine, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the Russian Federation is not imposing its vaccines on anyone, but such statements make one “think that European officials are defending the interests of individual companies and not the citizens of the European Union.”
“Only by joining forces can the desired result be achieved across the globe, and it is a global result that is needed”, – said the Russian leader.
