Employees at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport in France held a mass protest. The reason for the protest was the threat of job cuts at the airport due to the Covid-19 crisis.
At the initiative of the airport union, thousands of employees took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the situation.
According to Le Monde, almost 30,000 people working at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport could lose their jobs in 2021. The mayor of Tremblay-en-France, whose 40% of GDP is linked to airport operations, calls “the disaster predictable”. The director general of the Aéroports de Paris group, invited last week to participate in the Quotidien programme, said social tensions.
