Washington considered the possibility of striking another target in Syria – WSJ

The United States intended to strike at two targets in Syria during an attack on the bases of pro-Iranian formations on the night of February 26, but then decided to limit itself to one object. This was reported on Thursday by The Wall Street Journal.

The newspaper does not specify what other object was to become a target for the American bombing. According to the publication, United States President Joe Biden canceled the second strike half an hour before it was supposed to be delivered because, according to intelligence, there were women and children.

The Wall Street Journal adds another detail to the story of the first military operation, citing its sources: after the strike, the White House sent a confidential message to Tehran. The newspaper does not specify its content.
