Iranian capacities will be enough to bring uranium enrichment up to 60% in just 24 hours, but this requires an appropriate order.
This statement was made by the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi.
“If an order is given, then with the current capabilities, we can start doing this within 24 hours”, – the official said.
He recalled that within six months, Iran must fulfill the resolution of the country’s parliament regarding the production of 120 kilograms of uranium enriched to 20% per year.
“In less than one month, we have enriched 25-26 kilograms. That is, in three, four, five or six months we will reach the required 120 kilograms”, – Salehi said.
According to the terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program, the permissible level of uranium enrichment is 3.67%, but Tehran withdrew some of its obligations after the withdrawal of the United States from the agreement.
