The White House will have to provide the Congress with a legal basis for the decision of the US President to strike at Syria.
Such a statement on Friday, February 26, was made by Tim Kane, a Democratic senator from Virginia and a member of the military committee of the upper house of parliament.
Lawmakers and all Americans should know why Joe Biden ordered the attack to bypass Congress, he said.
“The American people deserve to hear the administration’s arguments for these actions, as well as their legal rationale”, – Kane said.
“Offensive military action without congressional approval is not constitutional unless there is an emergency”.
As previously reported by News Front, the infrastructure of pro-Iranian armed formations in eastern Syria was attacked. Tehran said that such actions could lead to a new round of violence between the United States and Iran.
