Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Sytnik, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, said that in the Idlib de-escalation zone in Syria, militants are planning a large-scale provocation using poisonous substances in order to accuse official Damascus.
According to him, information was received that terrorists from the Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham group (banned in the Russian Federation) are preparing such an action in the northeast of the ring.
“The terrorists in several trucks delivered containers with toxic substances, presumably chlorine, to the area of the Tarmanin settlement”, – the Russian military said.
“According to available information, the militants are planning to stage a chemical attack and its consequences in the form of casualties and injuries among local residents for the subsequent accusation of the Syrian government forces in the use of chemical weapons against civilians”.
Also, according to Sytnik, in the Idlib de-escalation zone, 37 cases of shelling were recorded from the positions of the Dzhebhat al-Nusra terrorist group (banned in the Russian Federation).
