Sputnik V vaccination started in Iran

Iran on Tuesday began vaccination against coronavirus using the country’s first vaccine available, Russia’s Sputnik V.

The vaccine was administered to the son of Iran’s health minister. The start of vaccination was given by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, broadcast by Iranian television.

Despite the fact that the country is developing its own vaccines, the Iranian authorities decided to carry out part of the vaccination with the help of foreign drugs, the first of which was the product of the Institute of Science and Research Gamalei.

Earlier, the head of the Iranian Ministry of Health, Said Namaki, said that first of all, doctors working in the intensive care unit will be vaccinated. Later, it is planned to extend the vaccination to the elderly and people with diseases.
