French President Emmanuel Macron, answering questions from experts at the Atlantic Council think-tank, said France supports a comprehensive dialogue with Russia in the interests of international stability
“Without dialogue, there can be no stability, so we need dialogue with Russia”, – Macron said. According to him, despite the existing differences, such a “comprehensive dialogue is necessary.”
Macron stressed that France believes broad discussions on arms control involving the EU, Russia, the US and China are necessary.
“When we talk about arms control, we definitely need discussions with Russia”, – Macron said. – “Before, we built our discussions on this topic on the schemes of the Cold War. These were discussions between Russia and the US”, – the French leader said.
“As a European, I want such discussions between the European Union, Russia, the US and possibly China”, – Macron said. – “We need broad discussions.”
