Hungary was the first in the European Union to approve the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “Sputnik V”

The representative of the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban said that the Hungarian authorities approved the use of the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V”.

“Thus, Hungary became the first EU state to officially allow the use of the Sputnik V vaccine on its territory. The vaccine was registered in Hungary as part of the accelerated data-based clinical trials of Sputnik V in Russia and a comprehensive evaluation of the drug by experts in Hungary”, – the Russian Direct Investment Fund said.

Hungary in November became the first EU country to receive samples of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine for research.

“Hungary was the first in the EU to approve the use of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19. And I did the right thing, especially in the face of very serious questions about the Pfizer vaccine. Blocking the Russian vaccine is a tool of politics, as well as cynical competition in the name of profit. Meanwhile, human lives are at stake. The Hungarian government, apparently, is aware of this”, – said Senator Alexey Pushkov in his Telegram channel.
