Media report on Macron’s state of health

Earlier it was reported that the French president had contracted a coronavirus

The condition of French President Emmanuel Macron, who contracted the coronavirus, remains stable compared to what was seen on Monday. BFM television reported this on Tuesday, citing a statement from the Elysee Palace.

“The state of health of the President of the French Republic remains stable in relation to what was observed on Monday”, –  the TV channel quoted an extract from the communiqué as saying.

On Monday, Gabriel Attal, a spokesman for the government of the Republic, told reporters that, according to the report of the attending physician, “the president is still showing symptoms after being infected with the coronavirus”. However, Attal stressed that Macron’s health is stable and he “continues to work”.

On 17 December, the press office of the Elysee Palace reported that Emmanuel Macron had tested positive for the coronavirus. The presidential administration said the French leader “will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely”. He has self-isolated at his country residence Lantern, located on the grounds of the Versailles palace complex.
