At least 62 police officers were injured in France during the Saturday demonstrations against the Global Security Bill. This was reported to the Ministry of Interior on Sunday.

According to updated data from the Ministry of the Interior, 23 police officers were injured during protests in Paris and the remaining 39 in the province. Earlier it was reported that during the demonstrations 37 law enforcement officers were injured to varying degrees. On Saturday night, video clips were distributed on social networks showing groups of demonstrators beating up gendarmes.

According to the Interior Ministry, two demonstrators complained to the General Inspectorate of Police about police violence. It is also known that Amir al-Khalbi, a Syrian freelance photographer, was shot in the head during the protest action. Christophe Deloire, Secretary General of Reporters Without Borders International, condemned the “unacceptable police violence” against the 24-year-old photographer.

During demonstrations in France, law enforcement officials detained more than 80 people who were involved in the riots.
