The US State Department announced the introduction of new sanctions against 19 individuals, including members of the Syrian parliament and sponsors of the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. This was reported on the official website of the department.
In addition to these individuals, there are nine organizations on the blacklist associated with the processing of oil products, military construction and the production of medicines.
“Today, the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control took action against Syrian military officials, members of the Syrian parliament, Syrian government organizations and Syrian and Lebanese individuals trying to revive Syria’s declining oil industry”, – the statement said.
It also became known earlier that the White House is determined to introduce a new package of sanctions against Iran.
