Steffen Seibert, a representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers, called unacceptable the statement made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the mental health of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Such statements are particularly inappropriate against the backdrop of a teacher being killed by an Islamic fanatic, he said.
Seibert also reminded Erdogan of the searches that the Turkish president had condemned at the Berlin mosque. But the searches were carried out in accordance with the law, not because of discrimination against believers.
