In France, the state of emergency can be extended until February

The French Parliament has given thought to extending the state of emergency in the country until February 2021.

The draft law is already under consideration. At the same time, 71 deputies supported the initiative to extend the state of emergency, while 35 opposed it.

“Before the vote, the Minister of Health of France, Olivier Veran, made a speech to parliamentarians, in which he stressed the seriousness of the epidemiological situation,” – says the DW.

The Senate must now consider the bill. In early November, a final vote will be held.
