Participants in the inter-Libyan talks agree on a ceasefire

Negotiations are underway in Geneva between the parties to the inter-Libyan conflict. They managed to agree on the introduction of a permanent ceasefire.


The UN noted that this is “an important turning point in progress towards peace and stability in Libya”.

What details of the agreement are still unknown. The document was signed in Geneva on Friday morning.

The ceremony was definitely attended by the Director General of the UN Office in Geneva, Tatyana Valovaya. She announced this on her Twitter.
