US imposes sanctions against Iran’s defense ministry. This was stated by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
He said that the US President signed a decree according to which the United States will impose unilateral sanctions against Iran and will restore the arms embargo against Tehran.
“Today I am taking the first step in accordance with this decree, imposing sanctions on the Iranian Defense Ministry and the logistics units of the Iranian Armed Forces,” Pompeo said.
He also said that sanctions are being imposed against “the Iranian defense industry and its leader.”
In addition, the US Department of Commerce is adding five Iranian scientists to the list for the implementation and assistance in the Iranian nuclear program.
