Mohammad Hasan Hotak, senior adviser to the Afghan president for public affairs, was shot by unknown assailants near his home in Kabul.
The victim was an influential politician in Zabul province and had previously represented her in the country’s Senate. The police qualified this murder as a terrorist attack. So far, no one has taken responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, in another region – the province of Badakhshan – the field commander of the Taliban Ziyaulhak, who served as the “governor of Mimi district” in the movement, was liquidated. The leader was killed in a clash with the police initiated by the Taliban themselves.
