Protests in Lebanon injure more than 700 people and kill a police officer

Protests in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, have injured more than 700 people. This was reported by the resource Aljazeera.

In addition, one police officer was killed.

The army drove out the protesters who took over the Lebanese Foreign Ministry building. The retired military officers who led the protests called it “the headquarters of the revolution.”

Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab is confident that early elections are needed to overcome the crisis.
