At least two missiles fell near the US Embassy in the Green Zone in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. This is reported by a number of media outlets with reference to a source in the Iraqi security agencies.
“Two Katyusha missiles fell today at noon near the American Embassy in the Green Zone without causing any casualties,” the source said.
Homemade missile launchers regularly target the green zone of the Iraqi capital, where government offices and embassies are located, as well as Baghdad’s international airport, which is adjacent to a military airfield. As a rule, such incidents do not lead to casualties among the population and do not entail significant damage.
