Media says Syrian army opened fire on militants in the provinces of Hama and Idlib

The Syrian army on Sunday opened fire on several terrorist positions in the provinces of Hama and Idlib in response to Saturday attacks by gangs, the Syrian newspaper Al-Vatan reports, citing an informed source.

“The Syrian army opened fire on terrorist positions in the west of Hama and southern Idlib. In response to violations of the ceasefire and attacks on military positions of government forces”, – the newspaper writes.

According to the newspaper, heavy artillery hit terrorist positions in three settlements in the province of Hama and three in the province of Idlib.

Rear Admiral Alexander Shcherbitsky, head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, said on Saturday that two groups of militants of up to 250 people attacked the positions of the Syrian forces in Idlib, the attack was repelled, eight militants were neutralized. Among the Syrian military there are no dead.
