A newsletter of the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties and the Control of the Movement of Refugees dated July 11, 2020 has been published.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, over the past day, 27 refugees (8 women, 14 children) returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from Lebanon through the Jadet-Yabus and Tell-Kalah checkpoints.
In 413 settlements, the least affected by hostilities, refugee reception and deployment centers for 1,502,650 seats have been deployed.
The state of infrastructure, socially significant objects, the availability of building materials and material resources in Aleppo and Hama were evaluated. The Syrian Ministry of Water Resources has completed work in Homs and its environs to replace sewer lines, restore a number of pumping stations and treatment facilities, and increase the number of artesian wells, which made it possible to provide drinking water to all areas of the provincial administrative center.
Currently, in 345 settlements of the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Deir Ez-Zor, Latakia, Hama, Homs, Derya, Essaouida, El Quneitra and Raqqah, work is underway to restore and repair 2,677 residential buildings, 220 schools, 176 preschool institutions, 239 medical institutions, 203 bakeries, 199 electrical substations, 279 pumping stations and 89 places of worship.
The engineering units of the armed forces of the Syrian Arab Republic carried out the tasks of clearing land and facilities in the Duma (Damascus province), in Jassim and El Harra (Dara’a province) over the course of a day. 1.9 ha of land are cleared. 35 explosive objects were discovered and destroyed. Totally cleared were 3 101.5 hectars of territory, 3 112 buildings (structures), 273.4 km of roads. 36 567 GPs were discovered and destroyed, including 5 393 IEDs.
In the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus and Hama, a state program is being implemented to restore settlements on the territory liberated from militants. The program includes three stages: preparation of infrastructure (water supply, electrification), targeted assistance to the population, return of residents to places of permanent residence.
The National Reconciliation Committee is negotiating a voluntary transition to the side of the government and surrender of weapons, establishing the status of former members of illegal armed groups and the population living in previously occupied territories, as well as internally displaced persons.
