19 policemen were injured in Stuttgart, Germany

Nineteen policemen were injured during a pogrom and riot in downtown Stuttgart by hundreds of hooligans last night.

This was reported by deputy head of local police Thomas Berger. According to him, the number of injured policemen may still increase, as many of them report injuries later.

Berger also noted that 24 people have been detained since the night riots. The prosecutor’s office has issued arrest warrants for at least seven of them. Seven of the 24 detainees are minors, while another seven are between 18 and 21 years of age. 12 of the 24 are German citizens, Berger said.
