Protests against racism and police brutality took place in major European cities. The demonstrations were by no means peaceful.
Protests that took place in France gathered around 23,000 participants. There were no special incidents in Paris, unlike in Marseille. The city police had to use tear gas to disperse the protesters who did not want to leave the Old Port area.
Radicals threw stones and bottles at law enforcement officers. Similar incidents occurred in Lille and Nantes.
