A new rally against racism and police violence began around 6 p.m., Wednesday June 10, 2020, Place de la République in Lille. It is the fourth demonstration in a week of this movement born out of the death of George Floyd in the United States and the mobilization of the Traore family in France. The previous rallies had gathered several thousand people in Lille Tuesday 2, Thursday 4 and Saturday 6 June, sometimes resulting in violent clashes between police and demonstrators. This new gathering has also degenerated.
