Two large rallies took place immediately in Syria in protest against the US sanctions policy.

According to media reports, one rally was held in the city of Essaouida. Here, demonstrators spoke out in support of President Bashar al-Assad and called on people to unity.
“The people of Syria will respond by rallying the ranks and strengthening national unity to the economic war unleashed against them,” the resolution says.
The second action was held in the province of Al Quneitra. Local residents emphasized in their appeal that the US sanctions “will only strengthen the resolve of the Syrians, who have stood up to the battle with terrorist gangs and now intend to restore their country after the war.”
