New clashes between aggressive young men and police took place on Monday night (17-18 May) in the suburb of Paris, Arjantey. This was reported by radio station France Bleu.
The riots were recorded in several residential areas of the commune. Hooligans set fire to bus stops and garbage cans and started fireworks. The police who arrived on the scene were forced to use tear gas to disperse the belligerents.
Clashes erupted in France after a 30-year-old motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, crashed into the open door of an unmarked police car in the commune of Ville-la-Garen in late April. The man was taken to a local hospital with suspicion of an open fracture of the femur. The incident, the circumstances of which are still being clarified, triggered numerous publications on social networks condemning police action and calling for protests.
