Russian and Turkish military on Tuesday held the eighth joint patrol of the M-4 highway in Syrian Idlib, the length of the route was doubled, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said.
“In accordance with the agreements between the presidents of the Russian Federation and Turkey, reached on March 5, 2020 in Moscow, on May 5, the next, eighth, joint Russian-Turkish patrol of the M-4 highway section in the Idlib de-escalation zone connecting Aleppo and Latakia was held. The route was increased twice as much as previous patrols”, – the report said.
It is noted that two BTR-82A and an armored car “Tiger” were involved in joint patrols from the Russian Federation. In addition, the movement of the column from the air was controlled by drones of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The first Russian-Turkish joint patrol of the M-4 highway section in the Idlib de-escalation zone took place on March 15, 2020, the second on March 23, 2020, the third on April 8, 2020, the fourth on April 15, 2020, the fifth on April 21, 2020, the sixth – April 28, 2020, the seventh – April 30, 2020.
