Tehran reminds Washington that Iran did not deploy troops near US borders

Such a statement on Friday, April 17, was made by the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic Amir Khatami, commenting on the incident when the warships of the two countries came closer to each other.

Earlier, the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet press service accused the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps of carrying out dangerous maneuvers against American warships in the Persian Gulf.

Amir Khatami, in turn, recalled that this is not the Iranian fleet now located off the US coast.

“The United States came to Iranian borders from another part of the world,” the minister emphasized. “The illegal presence of the United States poses a threat to security in the Persian Gulf.”
