The investigation into President Donald Trump’s alleged ties with Russia during the election campaign was initiated without any grounds, said U.S. Attorney General William Barr.
“I think the President has every right to be disappointed. I think what happened to him was one of the greatest bullying in American history”, – he said in an interview with Fox News.
The Attorney General said that the FBI had launched its counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia “without any grounds.
“In fact, it is even more worrying about what happened after the campaign, a series of events when he was already president”, – Barr noted and added that the attacks were aimed at “sabotaging the presidency.
The FBI has begun investigating the “pre-election ties” between Trump’s campaign and Russia on July 31, 2016.
