Macron expressed France’s readiness to continue humanitarian cooperation with Iran

In a telephone conversation with the President of Iran, Macron also recalled his demand that a French national, Fariba Adelhah, imprisoned in Iran, be immediately released.

French President Emmanuelle Macron said in a telephone conversation with Iranian President Hassan Rowhani that his country, together with European partners, is ready to continue humanitarian cooperation with Tehran. This was stated in a communiqué issued by the French leader’s administration on Monday.

As noted in the Elysian Palace, Macron in a telephone conversation “expressed solidarity with the people of Iran, which was severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

“He recalled that France and its European partners have supplied Iran with medical supplies and remain ready to continue this humanitarian cooperation”, –  the administration continued. – “At a time when the international community must come together to combat COVID-19, he called on Iran to return to its nuclear obligations, to refrain from further actions that contravene the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCAP) and to help ease regional tensions”.

Moreover, as emphasized at the Elysian Palace, Macron recalled his demand that a French national, Fariba Adelhah, imprisoned in Iran, be released without delay.
