Popularity ratings of the French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Edouard Philippe are rising amid the coronavirus pandemic, Journal du Dimanche reports.
The President’s popularity has grown over the past month by 11 percentage points and amounted to 43 percent. Philippe’s rating rose by 6 percentage points.
According to the publication’s estimates, approval for Macron’s activities has grown among all categories, including by 13 percentage points among the “state employees” traditionally hostile to him, by 17 percentage points among citizens over 65 and by 27 points among the Republican party supporters.
However, “paradoxically”, according to the publication, the distrust of French citizens in the executive authorities to combat coronavirus is growing.
