Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has rejected US offers to supply the Islamic Republic with medicines to fight the coronavirus, Mehr reports.
“These are very strange words. First, you yourself have a shortage of medicines. If you have any medical support, then use it yourself. And you Americans are accused of developing the virus. You cannot be trusted. What will it happen if the medicine that you deliver to Iran contributes to the development of the virus?” – Ali Khamenei said, adding that Iran is able to withstand any difficulties and challenges at any level, as evidenced by 40 years of experience in the country.
Earlier, the US President Donald Trump announced his country’s readiness to assist Iran in the fight against COVID-19 coronavirus.
Currently, in Iran, 20,610 people are infected with coronavirus. The total number of deaths amounted to 1556 people.
