The US-led anti-terrorist coalition has begun redeploying its forces in Iraq. Part of the military is being moved outside the country. This was announced by the representative of the coalition Colonel Miles Cuggins. He called it a “historic step.”
“The coalition is moving troops from several small bases,” Caggins said.
According to him, the first relocation took place from the Al-Qaim base near the Syrian border. At the base are 300 US military. Some of them have already been transferred to Syria, others may be relocated to other bases in Iraq or to Kuwait in the near future. In total, there are about 5.5 thousand US troops in Iraq.
