Putin discussed with Erdogan implementation of Idlib accords

Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed over the telephone the implementation of the agreements on the Idlib de-escalation zone. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.

“A significant decrease in tension in the Idlib de-escalation zone was noted with satisfaction”, – the report said.

As noted, the heads of state reaffirmed the importance of continuing close joint work, primarily through the ministries of defense.

On March 5, Putin and Erdogan held talks in Moscow over the aggravation of the situation in Idlib. Following the meeting, a joint document was adopted.

In particular, the parties agreed to jointly patrol the M4 highway, which is controlled by militants.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad praised the outcome of the Russian-Turkish talks.
