The United States attacked the base of the Iraqi militia on the border with Syria. Military political analyst Andrei Koshkin commented on the situation.
The American aircraft launched air strikes against the al-Hashd al-Shaabi Iraqi militia base on the Syrian border with Iraq, Sky News Arabia broadcast on Thursday night. It was noted that strikes were carried out in the area of al-Khuray village of Anbar province.
In turn, the Syrian state channel Ikhbariya said that aviation strikes air on Syrian territory southeast of the Al-Bukemal border checkpoint.
Whether it was a question of one attack or two different ones, it was not specified.
On Wednesday, the Taji military base in Iraq, where coalition forces led by the United States to combat the Islamic State*, was deployed, was rocket fired. It was reported that three soldiers were killed, another 12 people were injured. The media reported that among the dead one American and two British. According to the coalition, a total of 18 rockets were fired at the base.

Today we see the US desire to aggravate relations with Iran again and destroy Shiite militias. This will naturally cause discontent on the part of Iran. Such strikes do not help stabilize relations in the Middle East in general. The Iraqi government has said about the need to withdraw US troops from Iraq, because such actions can not be accepted by Iran, and this is reflected in Iraq – and as a result leads to the aggravation”, – said Andrey Koshkin.
