Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with European Council President Charles Michel, during which the parties discussed the situation in Syria and the escalation of tension in Idlib due to militants, the Kremlin’s press service reports.
“The situation in Syria was discussed in the light of the escalation of tension in the Idlib zone caused by the aggressive actions of terrorist groups. Particular attention is paid to humanitarian issues. In this context, Michel informed about the measures being taken to prevent illegal migration to EU countries”, – the statement said.
It is noted that the parties also agreed to continue contacts.
