Erdogan will pay dearly for his ambitions – Arab countries create anti-Turkish alliance

Turkey tried in vain to play on two fronts. Having intervened in the Libyan conflict and provoked an escalation of tension in Syria, Recep Tayyip Erdogan provoked the discontent of other regional players and can now pay with isolation.

So, the head of the General Intelligence Service of Egypt Abbas Kamel went on a diplomatic tour of the Arab countries with a very specific goal: to enlist their support in security matters. At the same time, the Egyptian media have already revealed more detailed plans of the authorities. Cairo intends to unite states into an informal alliance “in the fight against the growing influence of Erdogan” both in the Middle East and North Africa.

The greatest discontent of the Egyptian authorities is Ankara’s decision to intervene in the Libyan conflict on the side of the so-called Government of National Accord led by Faiz Saraj. At the end of last year, Erdogan promised Tripoli support, sending fighters to Libya who had previously fought in pro-Turkish armed groups in Syria. Cairo, in turn, is on the side of Marshal Khalifa Haftar and his Libyan National Army.

According to reports, the head of the Egyptian intelligence service has already held talks with representatives of Sudan, Algeria and Morocco. It is noteworthy that the meetings were confidential. Nevertheless, the media leaked information that Abbas Kamel during his visit to Khartoum raised the issue of sending Sudanese military to Libya.
