Less than two weeks have passed since the Syrian army regained control of the republic’s most important motorway. Now, bus traffic has resumed here.

The liberation of the M5, which runs through Damascus, Homs, Hama and Aleppo, has been the strategic goal of the Syrian government for several years. At the beginning of last week for the first time since 2012, the main highway of the entire transport system of the country returned under the complete control of Damascus.
Now buses are actively running on the M5 highway. This seriously saves time for the citizens of the country, given that the road connects the two largest cities in Syria.
