Syrian Army artillery fired back at gang positions on the Neyrab-Sarakib front line in Idlib province.
This was reported on Thursday by the Al-Watan newspaper. According to it, earlier terrorists from the Jebhat al-Nusra group (banned in the Russian Federation) and their allies fired on government forces in the area of Kaminas.
In response to missile and artillery attacks, the enemy suffered losses in manpower and equipment. Syrian forces also attacked terrorist outposts in the settlements of Erich, Maarret-Naasan and Deir Sinbel at the approaches to the provincial center of Idlib.
In the western surroundings of Aleppo, shootings with gangs took place near the cities of Atarib and Daret-Izza. Syrian artillery inflicted strikes there on enemy forces in Kafr Nuran and Takada.
According to Al-Watan, to the west of Aleppo, Syrian troops are building fortifications in the area of the heights of Kubbatan al-Jebel to repel possible counterattacks by gangs. To the south of the city, troops took up positions on the Kfar-Aleppo-Miznar line near the humanitarian corridor created to allow civilians to leave terrorist-controlled territories.
On February 17, the command of the Armed Forces of the republic announced the liberation by government forces of 30 settlements in the vicinity of Aleppo, which helped to save the northern capital of Syria from mortar attacks by armed groups.
The military operation began on January 25 after the militants disrupted another ceasefire agreement in the northern de-escalation zone. In addition to the rout of gangs on the outskirts of Aleppo, the strategic highway Aleppo-Damascus was completely cleared of terrorists. As stated in the statement of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, after establishing control over the last section of this international route, “a security zone was created, stipulated by the Russian-Turkish memorandum of September 17, 2018”.
