At a meeting of the Iranian Prosecutor General Mohammad Jafar and the Deputy Prosecutor General, the Iraqi Deputy Minister of Justice Dari Jaber Farhud agreed to create a single investigative committee that will investigate the circumstances of the death of the commander of the special forces unit Al-Quds of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps General Kassem Soleimani.
As previously reported, Soleimani was killed in Baghdad on January 3 as a result of a U.S. Air Force strike. In response to this, on the night of January 8, Iran launched a missile attack on two objects in Iraq used by the US military – Ain al-Assad base and Erbil airport.
