Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced Iran’s intention to support Palestinian Armed Groups.
Major General Hussein Salami, the head of Iran’s elite revolutionary guard, threatened to strike at the United States and Israel, if there were any reasons. This was announced by Salami at the ceremony dedicated to the 40th day since the death of the high commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Qassem Soleimani, reports Reuters.
“If you make the slightest mistake, we will hit both of you”, – said Major General Salami.
Soleimani, who led the forces of guards responsible for operations outside Iran, was killed by a US drone in Baghdad on January 3, along with Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
The representative of the Revolutionary Guard, Ramezan Sharif, said later that the killing of Soleimani would lead to the liberation of Jerusalem, the Tasnim news agency reported.
“The vile and unceremonious killing by the Americans of the commander Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis will lead to the liberation of Jerusalem by the grace of God”, – said Ramezan Sharif.
Last week, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced Iran’s intention to support Palestinian armed groups, and urged Palestinians to oppose the US plan for peace between Israel and Palestine.
On January 28, the US president presented a plan for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, known as the “deal of the century”, which was positively received by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but rejected by the head of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, and the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Khania.
On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during his speech at the White House in the United States, said that in accordance with the “deal of the century”, Israel would immediately annex the Jordan Valley and all the Jewish settlements of Judea and Samaria.
