In the capital of Iraq are protests against the resumption of the exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance.
NATO defense ministers decide to resume training mission in Iraq. A statement was made on Wednesday by Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg following the first meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of the heads of the Ministry of Defense. In particular, Stoltenberg noted that the NATO mission should take on some of the functions of training the Iraqi army, “which were previously carried out by the states of the global coalition” under US command.
This decision of NATO led to mass unrest throughout the country. The largest protests took place in Baghdad.
