Advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Akbar Velayati said the era of American presence in Iraq and Syria has come to an end.
“Today, the era of US presence in Iraq and Syria has come to an end,” he said during a ceremony on the occasion of 40 days since the assassination of Iranian General Kassem Suleimani.
Velayati’s words are quoted by Mehr.
According to him, the moment has come by the decision of “Afghan combatants to expel Americans from Afghanistan.”
Velayati said earlier that the US is facing a “second Vietnam” if Washington refuses to withdraw American troops from the Middle East.
