Bar associations protest pension reform in France

Representatives of more than 160 bar associations in France took to the streets of Paris in protest.

Workers of the so-called free professions joined them. The upcoming pension reform threatens to seriously increase the amount of mandatory contributions. The government wants to abandon autonomous regimes with sectoral pension funds in favor of a common fund. The lawyer’s strike, which has been going on for 4 weeks, threatens to become unlimited. The slowdown of the entire justice system was noted, as a result, the consideration of cases was postponed for several months.

Protesters say that the decision of the government threatens the existence of a number of professions, since under the new rules deductions can become unbearable. First of all, for those who are just starting a private practice.
