More than ten protesters died in two days in Iraq

At least 12 protesters have died in clashes with security forces in the Iraqi provinces of Baghdad and Di-Kar over the past two days, the Iraqi Human Rights Commission said in a statement on Facebook.

Previously, 30 injured demonstrators were reported in the city of Nasiriya in Di Cara.
The commission said that during the clashes, nine protesters died in the province of Baghdad, the other three in Di-Kara.

It is also noted that 230 demonstrators and security forces were injured, including 118 in Baghdad.

The demonstrators in Iraq during the protests since the beginning of October last year demand the resignation of the government, the fight against corruption, unemployment, and better living conditions. As a result of clashes and riots accompanying the protest, according to Iraqi President Barham Saleh, more than 600 people were killed and about 50,000 were injured. These are the largest protests that have occurred in Iraq since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003.
